I'm not sure if I've voted here yet. Anyway, I'm going to go for the monkey of DOOM. Fire/Fighting=Always good. tail on fire=Always good. What Galar said=Yep, I'm definitly getting this guy now!

Definetly sounds good versus Blissey, Skarmory and Tyraniboah. But then we have Blaziken. I will pick mine based on which is the best without egg moves. In the hoenn gen. swampert is not very good without curse.

Pocchama's (penguin) final evolution type matchup is horrible! water and steel means that the fire/fighting monkey and the ground/grass turtle can super effective on it! I probably will get Goukazara, he looks like he has good stats, speed included, and a dual type that can beat the other two starters at the end evo. Not to mention, even as a moukazaru, he gets his second type right then. Which means, at level 14, he can kill the 1st rock type gym leader no problem i bet. Also, I saw his moves, and the look really well balacnced. While both the starters may be able to hit super effective on him, he can still heal with slack off, so there =P

Penguin guy. He looks so awsome! And I sorta like Water types, but they all look pretty good and this gen. of pokemon is way better than the last two.
EDIT: And i saw in the Psydex it evolves into Water/Steel which is good.

I never choose the grass types, but this time I think I will.
They've improved the grass type in general this time, and with the addition of ground type - earthquake at lv32
bite and crunch
huge defence and attack
it just looks generally good!
I'll upload my blaziken to D/P using pal park. there's no point in choosing ANOTHER fire/fighting type with the monkey.
And Water/Steel type sounds good, but it means I cant use kingdra or magneton evo.
grass it is!

I wrote: <s>Come to think of it I'm going to choose the Monkey, for two reasons:
Movepool: No offense, but the Grass starters are mostly rubbish in terms of movepool, especially for the fact that they're all four-legged (Treecko is an exception, he was a Grass type dream). Most four-legged Pokemon are a lot worse than Pokemon that stand on two feet. I do prefer four-legged creatures over two-legged, but I always prefer to think about the Pokemon movepool, and the strategies that the Pokemon holds. I just think the Monkey can achieve more than the turtle, as the Monkey is two legged... I think...
Speed: The turtle looks very slow, whereas the Monkey is definately going to be very fast, well, probably. I hate slow Pokemon, I can't live without speed... Speed is your key.</s>
Err... despite what I said earlier, now that I know the movesets/stats of the Pokemon, change of plan: Naetoru all the way! It's final evo is awesome, the monkey's is just plain boring to me.
I do hate the fact that it's slow, but I don't really care. High ATK and DEF along with Curse are nice, so the Speed doesn't really matter in the long run.
::Edit lol::

Meh, I've not really looked over the moves. I might go with Swords Dance, but Curse looks like it'll be pretty effective.

I'll get the penguin, but my friend agreed when he gets it to trade me the monkey, start over, trade me the turtle, start over, and then do his game. So all three really.

Lucky little..... I'll laugh if you can't trade straight away!
Ahem anyway. Does anyone else have a move set planned for their particular starter?

I'm thinking Hydro Pump, Invisible Tide, Drill Peck, and hopefully some kind of Ice TM.
