Well, apparently Nintendo forgot to make Pokemon versions of:

-Mole
-Ant (mentioned in "what type combination would you like to see?" thread)
-Wolf: Growlithe, Poochyena and Houndoom aren't exactly wolfs.
-Sea sponge: There is a coral Pokemon (Corsola), why not make an sponge Pokemon?
-Prehistoric animals like T-Rex, Velociraptor, saber tooth tiger and the first bird (don't know its name): If there is going to be a 5th gen, Nintendo could make 2 Pokemon version of those animals for Johto, because that region didn't get fossil Pokemon, and the other 2 as the new fossil Pokemon for the new region (if there is any).
-Hermit Crab: A new water/rock crab Pokemon who lives inside a shell of another Pokemon wouldn't be really bad.
-Another species of spider (a black widow or tarantula maybe?): Spinarak/Ariados shouldn't be the only Pokemon with Spider Web move. Exclusive moves should be only for legendaries IMO.
-Eel: It could be another water/electric Pokemon.

I said apparently because maybe, if there is a 5th gen, Nintendo will add new Pokemon based on the animals mentioned before.

I searched about Diglett and I found in Bulbapedia that its name is based in dig and piglet, its not related to a mole.

The name you're looking for for the first bird-dinosaur is the Archaeopteryx

About the Wolf..what about Poochyena and Mighteyna? They kind of look like wolves...

Aerodactyl is like the first bird, right?

And what about Clamperl's evolved forms? Aren't they like eels?

Judging by their name, could they be hyenas? Poochyena, , Mightyena - hyena

Oh...never thought of that....meh....

I'd laugh if they did a chihuahua!

Luxray is a lion.

And I think it'd be cool if we had...more creative ghost pokemon. Majority of ghost pokemon up to this point have been pretty awesome, so I just hope they keep it up. Less sableyes, more spiritombs/banettes/dusknoirs.

Oh, and ftr, I don't dislike sableye, but it is my least favorite ghost type...except for giratina, but even giratina has creativity.

Aerodactyl its based on pterodactyl, a flying dinosaur.

And you are right, Huntail and Gorebyss are eels. But I still want to see an electric eel Pokemon.

I just remembered more animals/plants/objects with no Pokemon version:
-Dolphin (It was mentioned in other thread, but don't remember which)
-Tree: Snover its a tree with snow, but not a pure green tree. And Sudowoodo its a rock tree.
-Silver and Gold: Bronzor is made of bronze, what about the other metals?
-woodpecker: A flying/grass Pokemon maybe?
-Marmot

EDIT: I remembered another forgotten animals/plants:
-Zebra: A Dark/Psychic (which is be considered light) Zebra Pokemon?
-Grass: Although exists the grass type, there isn't a Pokemon based on the common grass.

If there is a future, I believe it SHOULD be what I posted in my topic Pokemon Final Solution. Check it out if you haven't read it.

And if there is no future for Pokemon, we can still wonder about the Pokemon that could be created.

Mole = Diglet and Dugtrio
Wolf = Mightyena is close enough, it gets the point across
Sea Sponge = Since when have see sponges been dangerous lol
Apider = Ariados is the species "Long Leg", they could use another but thats pretty darn close.
T-Rex/Velociraptor = Rampardos
Saber Tooth Tiger = Raikou
Eel = Huntail

I am sure if you look you will find every poke has been covered.

^ 493 Pokemon have a lot of different forms, they have covered the basis of most creatures and dinosaurs. This said it is quite easy to see their new lack of creativity - Giratina, Heatran, Palkia, and Dialga leave a lot to be desire. While they did do better on Dialga and Palkia I still wouldn't give them a cookie.

We have Pokemon based on weaker animals/plants/objects than a sea sponge. Some examples are Sunkern (seed), Drifloon (Balloon) and Exeggcute (egg).
If there are Pokemon based in such inoffensive things, the creation of a sponge Pokemon would be fine.

Hmmm....true...but you could choke on a seed, an egg could ruin your house or hit you on the head....and a balloon could pop in your face...and a ghost one is just scary...but I see your point.
