My parents neber mention it, but I doubt they dont think Im too old. I actually for a long time played it how it's played, and more recently learned about EV's, IV's, etc for competitive battling. But still, I dont care how I play pokemon, it really doesnt matter to me. Whether or not its a kids game doesnt. Atter to me either. Its a fun game that a grew up with, i remember when I was 3 and was trying to play blue and silver on my gameboy color, but there was no lighted screen so I had no idea what I was doing really, but I fixed that problom with the gameboy pkayer for gamecube. Sorry.. Im kinda rambling. But yeah, ill play pokemon for a long, long time.

Does it seem like social suicide if we all think it's not?

I think it is honestly your decision if you get to old for pokemon. I turned 18 last month and still play it and enjoy it. even though I got out of the just nintendo stage, I play other games. but I would say its your decision if your to old or not.

They do it to trigger fan-fictions. Fur da lulz. Cuz you know how those fan stories can get... *shudders*

So the writers put things in the show just so they can read our screwed-up fanfics? That explains everything

I am twenty-six and since 1998 not a single year has passed that I have not played extensively, so no, you are never too old to play. However, it is a closet sport for me since it would have been socially unacceptable where I am - in sixth form, university and then at work. :/ There is nothing wrong with keeping it to yourself if it avoids lots of conflict/snide remarks, (personally it seems like they are missing out).

Some people have come out as Star Trek fans so there is hope for this old nerd. ;)
