I think having a Metogrss is a good idea. And I would't put a whole lot of legendary pokemon just because I like the cat and dog pokemon better.

{arcanine} and {absol} are the best in my opinion.

They said Metagross is for cowards, not that metagross is a coward.

yeah i restarted the entire game to get both, since my little brother wouldnt let me trade for his latios. and my parents took him to an event and he got a lot of stuff there. including {lugia} and {ho-oh}.
but no {mew} for him =)

i have all {suicune}{entei}{raikou} too.
and i got {mew} from the toys r us event
and before things get spammish i hardly think using {metagross} is cowardish.

only cowardish thing is using an entire team of legendaries

Metagross is not for cowards, in fact is more powerful than many legendary pkmn. With agility it can overun many pokemon, and with his incredible attack and defence, and great moveset it can destroy your team.

Personally I have used metagross and there are very few Pokemon that cause metagross problems. {tauros} with earthquake, {scizor} with counter {forretress} {vaporeon} {swampert} {milotic} {arcanine} {gyarados} and {charizard} .

 Why is everyone picken' on the legendaries? Really, I can faint Rayquaza in one attack. I'm training my metang right now. It knows Reflect, protect, Metal claw and Psychic.
