Well I will need to see it again before reviewing it so I will leave the first review to Nido. I'll need to see it again for a few reasons:

1) Someone inconsiderate bought their baby into the theatre and it HOWLED for the first 1/4 of the movie before they took it outside.
2) It's quite long and I drifted in and out in parts as it was quite slowly paced in parts.
3) I was quite tired.
4) The theatre was PACKED and the audience noise was quite loud.
5) I don't quite know what to say about some things :x

Overall it was really good. The cgi was amazing and Kong looks very real. It's really emotional and has some awesome scenes in it. However the dialogue is a bit bleh...I need to see it again to comment on this.

New York is done superbly too, especially the empire state building scenes.

Naomi Watts and Adrien Brody were pretty good too. Will comment on Jack Black on second viewing...not so sure about him, but he looked the part.

Kong vs. T-rex ROCKED big time!

If your mum and dad plan to take the whole family, just be cautioned: this really isn't for young kids. There are some pretty gruesome scenes in there.

What I will do is give it a rating: 8.5/10 won't change for me :)

SPOILER: KING KONG BITES OFF ANN DARROW'S FINGER AND FALLS INTO MT. DOOM!

I'm probably gonna see Kong when he starts showing here (my location :/ ) and I expect the movie to rock from what I've seen in the trailers.

Some of my thoughts:

The whole cast was great, including Jack Black, although Brody left something to be desired. His character didn't seem developed enough, so his whole hero angle was weak. Watts was a great Anne Darrow, definitely living up to Fay Wray.

Jackson has a great ability to make such a long movie not seem like 3-hours, and that has to be commended. Everything from the T-rex battle to Kong's confusion in New York is beautifully made or choreographed. Andy Sirkus (who acted out Gollum) also acted out Kong, and the result is a very human like Kong who you do feel for. [I

I thought the first hour was excrutiatingly slow. Really, really boring. I don't know this myself, but apparently the original took 15 minutes to get to the island; Jackson's version took, what, 45 minutes?

But in saying this, the rest of the movie was brilliant. The CGI was fantastic (uau Weta Studios) and the action was intense and thrilling.

The acting was good. Um. Yeah. Go Jack Black

It was good overall, I'd say 7.5 ~ 8/10

I was talking to my Dad about this after I logged off yesterday and I found out it took 8 months to create 8 minutes of animation. That was for one of the bigger scences. Also it took a year to film another scene with animation.

No wonder its meant to be a big hit, people have spent huge amounts of time on this film.

Oh TonberryKing says the first hour is boring eh? Hmmm i'll remember to take my night cap and extra popcorn... 8)
