Pokemaniac,

I did not say or meant every single member post like that, but it can average 1 per page per thread.

Oh yes everyone is like that and it's only the mods are the ones who NEVER screw up and when something goes wrong it's seems to be everyone else's fault.

No one has ever implied that mods do not make mistakes. I do admit that everyone starts out making mistakes and not observing forum etiquette, some of the current mods and yours truly included, but the difference is that some users never learn from their mistakes despite repeated warnings.

Firstly, we do not go on locking/editing sprees. We lock and edit where necessary. In any case, it's usually due to new members sometimes going on necromancing sprees (etc), which gives us the need to lock or edit multiple topics. It seems like you're implying we do this for fun rather than out of necessity.

Secondly, many members do not contribute as much to discussions as mods, so why should we be obliged to do so? Don't we all need time for other things in life? Many staff members are actually very busy people and have work or educational commitments.

Oh, I didn't mean that. I do agree with Snowball that they do lock and delete where nessesary, and not any more than what is nessecary. And I understand that everyone can't spend their whole lives on the internet.

I'm not mad at the mods ;)

This is all getting really mixed up. I think if people post here, they ought to stick to an opinion and stay with it. If the mods just didn't delete or lock too many topics, this community might become peaceful again. I dunno, I think it's already pretty awesome here.

No becuase if the mods stop locking topics then the forum will be chaos and have topics like"What did you eat this morning"all over it. I personally think they are doing there jobs correctly.

I didn't mean that. I meant that mods locking topics is good, but...never mind. I think it's great that they lock unnecessary topics.

It does take only one or two posts to wreck a topic. Posts are made in chronological order, and people have the tendency to respond to posts directly above theirs, which in some cases may be off-topic. I guess the thread about Hurricane Katrina would be such an example.

*turns red* Yes, ever since I realized that that topic was locked RIGHT AFTER I posted (making mine the last post before the lock), I've ben feeling really guilty. But I can't help but agree with sN0w. Replies that reply to the post above them rather than the whole topic inadvertently lead to off-topic-ness.

Uh... Isn't that what mods are for?

I'd say something else, but I believe most of what has to be said has been said.

I think if we got rid of the ranks people would not spam so much.

Why? I understand that the ranks encourage people to post more, but I was motivated to post due to becoming a Pokemon Master, and yet I do not Spam, or at least, I don't think I do.

If someone is going to post pointlessly, they'll do it regardless of whether they get a reward for it or not.

And I'd like to say that the mods seem to be putting more smilies in their posts. I think it's actually a nice touch, I know some did already, but some that didn't are starting to do so, and it makes you feel a little less like you've done something wrong, and more that you just made a mistake. (There, I put one in too, doesn't that make me caring? ) <--Ooh, another one! (Okay, I think that's enough of that...)

I’ve read this before, just so you guys know, but a lot has happened since I last did, and I have to add my opinion too.

Seeing as how many of you seem to think that younger members cause the trouble due to their lack of knowledge and immaturity, I’d just like to say that that’s not true. I doubt that many people here are less than 10, let alone 7. For example: Xalia is 11, and I’m 12. Those that mean that we are immature? I hope not.

I know that many members here are older than me, and if anything, that makes me behave better. I’m pretty sure that it’s the same for many young members. They respect the mods, while (like GQ said) it’s the donkeys who think that the fact that they are older means that they can do what they want insult the mods and any other members who try to help them. I’ve seen this myself.

I’m not trying to say that the younger members are better than the older members, or the opposite. I see a lot of us get along well with each other, despite age differences. I don’t even think that age is the problem. Maybe I’m posting because what other people posted about the younger members ruining Psypoke hurted me. It’s hard to explain. Probably because I love this place so much, and hearing that people like me, or maybe even myself as well, were causing so many problems…

The people who I think bring Psypoke’s standard down are:

1.Lazy: Lazy to type properly, and to discuss topics nicely instead of just posting: I hate Bulbasaur!
2.Uncaring: People who just post without thinking about other members’ feelings.
3.Attention seekers: People who enjoy having all the attention. They try in school, so they try it in Psypoke. They go off topic, make pointless posts, try get into trouble, etc.
4.Jerks: People who think that it’s ‘cool’ to cause trouble. They like to upset other members and mods, to see them clean up the messes that they made.
5.Spiteful: People who have troubles at home and school. They act mean to other members to help belt out any anger or frustration. To make them fell big since in real life they feel small.

Personally, no one can try make me leave Psypoke unless I decide to leave for my own personal reasons. If they talk nasty things about me in the chats, I still won’t leave. Why should something another person said make me leave the place that I love? If the members that left due to what other people were saying/doing, I doubt that they loved this place very much if they let one person’s doings make them leave.

Rapidash thank you for saying that.Because people like me and Rapidash are young and we(at least most of the time in my opinion)seem to be blamed about how 'oh the young population of Psypoke is stupid and do not know a thing',and guess who gets the blame.........It's us and you are right sometimes we may make mistakes but I am sure EVERY single person on Psypoke has done something bad.And just a response to Rapidash about how it is people are lazy when it comes to posting okay I will except it if it is that your from another Country and your learning English, but there is no excuse what so ever how it is you can speak English perfectly in real life but not on Forums as sometimes it can take me at least 10 minuets just so it is I can read a post because it can become so Frustrating!

No, I don't think its ranks. I think its posts per day. I know that with team hydro, you need 7.00 posts per day to gt a certain ribbon. Thats why I have been posting so much  , even though I shouldn't.

And, its noth the posting alot type of problem, its the posting "stupidity".

Anyway, this topic should probably be locked.
This topic is another great example of why the site is going down the tubes...Tessa made a posts after about 15 days of silence.

Gee I didn't notice that badge. In any case, it was emphasized that one must not spam to reach that target.

Why should this topic be locked? It seems to be still generating discussion. Necromancy isn't a strict rule after all.

Backseat moderating is also one thins which I believe irks the staff members =o

Well look at what I found a mod abusing their powers this isn't right and rude and disgusting to Garabato who was just trying to help someone when a mod would think it is funny to do this!!!: Garabato wrote:

Thats right, absol its just too fragile. It has great attack stat (130) but it lacks the speed and moveset to use it properly.

Umbreon on the other hand BAN ME PLEASE in what is designed for, not only has better overall stats, it has a great annoying moveset and an excelent batton passing moveset. Who cares if it cant defeat a pokemon hand on hand?. Its an excelent team supporter.

You see that in all caps BAN ME PLEASE whoever was upgraded to a mod should not have been for doing that, just apologize to Garabato (but like that will ever happen). But here is solid proof that mods do POWER ABUSE I thought being a mod was to be nice and to be a role molder and leader ect ect, and that my friends is what the Psypoke Community needs people who are leaders not people who do mean things, get away with it and think it is funny. And on the Chats same thing you get into a fight with a mod they dis you and all the other mods do this "FAIL" 'LOLZ JOO SUCK'!! as soon as you dis them then it is like this 'BAN' and gone that is power abuse as well, and just because the Admins are not often online doesn't mean us 'Normies' as we are called shouldn't let people treat us like this. I have more to say but my hands hurt from this huge post so I will probably edit this later but all I have to say is:

Pokemaniac out!

Oh no I Care because this isn't right as I am sick of mod Power Abuse as now nobody can say 'oh it doesn't exist' crap they throw on us. Getting really irritated I mean just because we all live in different parts of the world doesn't mean you can pick on us! And as a result you can hide in front of your PC and just gawk at us enough is enough! I mean on the chats I get made fun of for getting to and too mixed up and a "certain" mod thinks it is funny to make fun of me. But as you all know I do not internet chat speak and have very good vocabulary I mean I cannot even make a mistake of spelling a word without a mod making fun of me about it. And this person knows who exactly who they are.

Thank you so so much for saying that. And yes, mods, i meant to say so twice. I think Mods abuse their powers both mentally and physically(if you know what I mean) Physically being deleting posts that people put alot of thought into, necromancing after 2 weeks of inactivity, editing posts for swearing, then swearing in the warning message, etc. Mentally being that they think they have total immunity, they think they're so cool, they can swear and break the COC that they live by, and countless other things. I hope you all listen to the noob/undertaker this time for once!!!!!

That isn't power abuse, it's the forum's word filter. You only noticed the output of the post and didn't see what was actually in the post. Here is what the post was meant to say, although there is a random period where the word filter comes in:

Code:
...Umbreon on the other hand speci.alises in what is designed for...

Take away the . and it looks like:

"...Umbreon on the other hand specialises in what is designed for..."

Take it down to the word that didn't come out
Code:
specia.lises
which has
Code:
c.ialis
right in the middle of it, which filters (without the period) to cialis. If you're wondering why it does this, it's because that that word is the name of one of the products that the spambots would advertise.

If you need more proof, go test it yourself and click the quote button on the original post, here. You could also just do it with this post.

You obviously DON'T understand. There are curses that get past the filter like A** and I saw my post and it stated A**(of course stars replaced) and later a mod comes along and says that I'm an A**hole to swear like that over nothing. WHO's swearing over nothing???

Kingler K, that is just the evil sense of humor that the mods have. You get used to it. :/

I honestly dont see what the problem is. Plenty of the mods are alright. Can anyuone truly say that sNOwy or S_S has pissed them off? tiger10x? BBD? Sometimes the mods get pissed at us, but 99% of the time, it is for a good reason, like we have been acting like total n00blet know it alls or something along those lines. In fact, they usually leave us alone as long as we dont go around saying stuff like

ZOMFG MAGIKRAP IS ORGNE!!KTHXBAI

and stuff like that. As long as we arent acting retarded, they wont treat us as such.

No....... I thought for once we actually had proof but on the chats it happens and I wouldn't suggest going on there as people their will treat you horrible and will think it is funny to make fun of you and kick you out of rooms. If this doesn't stop everyone will eventually leave and people will be all "awww why did everyone leave"? as this what had happened when Flarey and Miasma left a huge uproar had happened and it can happen again so could we all just be nice? And Blaziken234 they do it to me all the time and a lot of the time it is for no good reason.

Umm... Another reason people dont like you is because they cant read your posts... Have you heard of a complete sentence?

And have you noticed that it is only a couple of people who get kick? Thats because its only a couple of people who are the a**holes. Flarey and Miasma were being annoying. Look at what happened. MVP was annoying. Look at what happened.

For your information I do put in periods. MVP got in trouble, tell me something I don't know. and Flarey and Miasma where not being idiots the just left before they got upset and made a BIG commotion. As for others like JameJame she said what she wanted to say and left.

Okay everyone, listen up! I am going to tell you a story about why Pokemaniac is acting so rebellious and angry and going against the man.

So, a couple months ago, Pokemaniac came into the chats, and he was chatting. Then he starts bashing homose<b></b>xuality. Literally bashing it. Now, I'm bise<b></b>xual, and it really grinds my gears when someone bashes homos<b></b>exuality, because that, in turn, bashes me. So I banned him for thirty days, but I was kind and unbanned him early.

Flash forward to about a month or so ago. Pokemaniac went to a topic and started bashing me again. I was ruder than I should have been to a user, and I apologised publicly. He, however, got into affairs that were not his, and started using my fault to insult me. This, again, I will not tolerate, and therefore I banned him. Again, I was kind and unbanned him early.

Flash forward to eight days ago. He swore in the chats, which he should have known was against the rules. Krisp banned him for thirty days. Today, he evaded that ban. He evaded the ban twice, even AFTER he KNEW that he was still banned. This is not only breaking #psypoke's rules, but also DarkMyst rules. For that, I banned him for an additional fifty days from #psypoke, and added a network ban -- not being able to connect to IRC -- for fourteen days.

About five minutes later, I received this nasty PM from Pokemaniac, with the subject of "Enough is Enough!!!!":

Pokemaniac wrote:
Ok what did I ever do to you I never bothered you or anything like that but ban me from Darkmyst?! I mean what is your problem I never did anything to bother you. I will be talking to the Admins about this because this is mean and unacceptable.

Now, let's analyse this. First of all, it was him who broke the rules here, not me. Secondly, by bashing homose<b></b>xuality those two months ago, I've learned to keep my eye on Pokemaniac, as I know that his mouth tends to wander without his brain, which I'm relatively sure he has somewhere. Finally, it is the mod's role to enforce the rules -- not the admins. The admins step in when there is something a mod cannot do. However, I was able to handle the situation very quickly and easily.

Finally, this is not up for discussion. Pokemaniac knew he was breaking the rules, and I played judge, jury, and executioner. "You do the crime, you pay the time."

This is not a matter of power abuse what-so-ever, as I used the "power" to enforce official Psypoke and DarkMyst rules. If people do not agree with Psypoke rules, such as JameJame and Flarey, then they are more than welcome to leave. You are a guest to the admins' forums and chats; therefore, if you disagree with what rules they've instated, then you have two options: suck it up and deal with them; or leave.
