So I was wondering why everybody wants to teach Stealth Rock to pokemon who can't fully use it.
I mean, I think it would be much better to teach it to a PKMN who can use either Roar or Whirlwind.
Is there something I'm missing or don't know?

Well on Wi-Fi, people tend to switch a lot. It does roughly 1/4 damage to most pokes cause hardly anyone uses Rock or Steel types. A poke like Blissey can pull this off well, and by using it everytime they switch it hurts them so they do it maybe half as often allowing you to start taking advantage of what they have out. See what Im saying?

It'd take a quarter of foe's health but still very good to teach to a supporter like blissey

Yeah, but I thought it would work better if you made them switch, since you're causing the damage when you want, not when they want.
But I do see your point.

A good idea would be having stealth rocks out and switching between a skarmory and blissey. The one main problem is if they have a mixed sweeper, but I've seen this pulled off well.
Don't forget, roar/whilwind ALWAYS go last

Yeah, I know that, and I figured it didn't matter with Skarmory's defense. I have a ultra-defense Skarmory with
Double Team
Roost
Spikes
Whirlwind
I was thinking of maybe replacing Spkes with Stealth Rock

Why do ppl use stealth rock? cuz it's awesome. It destroys focus sashers, decreases survivability of sweepers weak to it (of which there are many) and it only takes 1 turn to use. Just because a move only takes effect when the opponent is switching out doesn't mean it must be used with roar/ whirlwind. Roar/ whirlwind are most effective at removing stat ups, not abusing Stealth rock.
the ideal poke to teach Stealth rock to is a poke who will be easy to switch in/ lead with. This is because u want to set this up early battle, as u'll get the most use out of it. Good Stealth rockers are Skarmory, Blissey, Swampert, Forretress, Donphan, Bronzong... What do they all have in common? they're defensive and capable of switching in on a lot of stuff. Do they all use roar or whirlwind? no.
and about stealth rock's damage: it does 12.5% (1/8) to pokes neutral to the rock type. The percentage is multiplied if there is a weakness or resistance. Bronzong takes only 6.25% (single resist) where Gyarados takes 25%. Lucario takes 3.125% where Charizard takes 50%.

Dont forget Empoleon. Yawn/ stealth rock can work pretty well, and he's got the defenses
Edit: stealth rock destroys scyther, another commonly used pokemon

then u sent out a donphan w/ curse, roar (its goin last neway), eq, rock slide and then they would switchh into a special type, but u roar away causing much annoyance and damage
is this what u r talkin about
i havent tried it in DP, so i dont know if it works as well

How Stealth Rock works ?
It's something like spikes right ?
How much damage it causes ?

you speek like cavmen
use a punctuation
grammer iz gooooooood
Stealth rock is a lot like spikes, but better. A lot of commonly used pokemon are weak to rock, and the ones that are weak to rock get 1/4 thier health sapped. 4 X bad against rock, 1/2 damage. not weak to rock, 1/8th and resistant to rock 1/16th. some pokemon like rhperior can get away with just 1/32nd

I like sleath rock, it really helps getting rid of flinching togikiss. And PWNs Charizard . It also helps with focus sash + explosion.
