Well it depends, Vunusaur is commonly known as the Pollen king which makes him effective in Status ailments but not all that much more. As for being a pollen poke there are a lot of pokes that can pull it off better than a Venusaur.

Torterra on the other hand has pretty solid Def stats and a pretty good Atk stat. Combine that with the fact that it learns EQ and Crunch through Leveling up makes it for a pretty nasty poke. But the fact that it hsas so many common weaknesses really takes away from its Def persuassion.

All in all I would take Bulba just because I love his pollen powers and I can do more with it. I have both and don't use either but if I had to choose between "Potential Sweeper" or "Stat Afflictor" I would take stat.

If yu do not want to evolve it then Bulbasaur is the definite choice just because the pre evo forms cant offer sweeper or tank status but bulba can still sneak in stat ailments.

Taking unevolved Pokes to Battle Tower?!?! You must be insane or somebody told you it was impossible and you are trying to prove them wrong...

Just yesterday I beat a guy on WiFi with a Bidoof in his team. What's up with that?

Let's think in a different way... Bulbasaur's type is POISON and Grass (which make Psychic type attack super effective against him).
But turtwig is pure-grass type, making him has less weakness.
I choose turtwig, but if you are looking for something stronger than turtwig, choose Treecko.

It mainly depends on their Level. At Level 5, you don't have much choice :roll: but at Level 100; well, I need to look at the Psydex.

{bulbasaur} {turtwig}

Word. The threory of Evolution (which is fact in the Pokemon world) implies that a superior being raises up on 2 legs to walk.

Bulbasaur and Turtwig are still walking around on all fours. Treecko is obviously superior.

"Charmander go!"
"Rival sent out Bulbasaur"
"Charmander used Scratch!"
"Foe's Bulbasaur used SLUDGE BOMB!"
"Charmander fainted!"
