It could be a glitch, but I'm not entirely sure if it was programmed this way, but...
I was in Battle Tower and my Sceptile's Leaf Blade nearly dropped a Marshtomp, but it hung on with the Focus Sash. He Swaggered so I switched out and when the next Pokemon attacked, get this, the Marshtomp took the attack and lived! He hung on with the Focus Shash a second time, even though he had only 1 HP!!!
So although the Focus Shash wears off after the first near-fatal blow, it reappears if a new enemy is brought in... Strange, don't you think?
There's probably a way to exploit this, so I'll leave it up to you guys to figure out that one.
Discuss.

Maybe it was just a word mistake. I think the game meant Band.

I seriously doubt that a pre-programmed message like this in the game would contain a typo. If this were the case, then many people would have stated already that when their pokemon held on with a Sash the game said "Band".

It can't have, focus sash is like a berry. Used and lost once in battles, in battle tower and wi-fi it reapeers after the battle like berries.

it must have been Focus Band:
1. Focus Sash only works once, after which the item disappears.
2. Focus Sash only works if the pokemon is at full health.
I imagine the messages for Focus Sash and Focus Band are very similar (likely, the only difference is 'Sash' and 'Band'). Are you sure it said Focus Sash? I, for one, barely read the messages that show up...especially as I'm usually doing something else at the same time.

Im sure it was either a glitch or a focus band activated.

The game said it hung on on with it's Focus Sash. I wasn't doing anything else at the time.
If you don't believe me, try it.

How are we supposed to try it do you expect us to get that exact trainer with that exact pokemon and the exact pokemon you used. It must have been focus band or your eyes were fooling you or you were sleepy.

lt can be nonsense but maybe the focus sash is used if you are to die from one move for each pokemon. l mean when you attack it, lt was to die in one turn by a pokemon, so the sash was activated and when you change the pokemon, it is again to die in one turn cause the turns are reset for each pokemon for some reason. l hope l could tell it clear enough.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking happened. There's no simple way to expalin it, but I swear that's exactly what happened.

Wow, sorry to revive an old thread, but this exact same thing just happened to me.... it hung on twice. And it certainly was a Sash.

Is this all happening in the Battle Tower? Because as we all know, the Battle Tower has a knack for being haxxy...

Maybe things just work differently for the Battle Tower people.

something like that probably is not limited to Battle Tower. Haxxy, yes...but that's in chances of getting it to work, which the Focus Sash does not rely on.
Perhaps someone could try it over wifi?

I knew I wasn't illiterate.
But I am crazy, no doubt about it...
Things about the BT I've noticed, such as Flaafy's always carry Shuca Berries.
Well when the supposed glitch happened, it was against Swampert, so maybe they always have a Focus Sash.

Well, something relating to this.
I was in Wifi, battling against my brother, who had a Walrein or Froslass or sumthin. Anyway, i was dumb, and had a Yache Berry on my Sala, which had the DD set. So i battled him, after i had battled someone else who used an ice attack. He used an ice attack, and the Yache Berrie didnt work, then the next battle, it didnt work again, What happened?

This should solve your problems:
Focus Sash:
"An item to be held by a Pokemon. If it has full HP, the holder WILL endure on potential KO attack, leaving 1 HP."
Focus Band:
"An item to by held bt a Pokemon. The holder MAY endure a potential KO attack, leaving it with just 1 HP."

Do berries disappear after use on Wi-Fi?

No. And technically, the Focus Sash does not "disappear". It just ceases to work unless the HP is bumped up to full again.
And realistically, Sash couldn't activate twice in a row....or could it? Then again it is the battle Tower.
That just gave me an idea. Maybe if Shedinja was holding Focus Sash, it could potentially never die, since all hits on Shedinja are OHKOs.
I'm going to test this right now and get back to you....
Edit: Okay, it only worked once against Shedinja, and then Shedinja fainted normally. And it actually does disappear? WTF!? Now I'm happy that Porygon-Z was never in a OHKO situation...

I tried this using my Shedinja, I don't understand it seems like sometimes it works and somtimes it doesn't, I've had it occur with the Swampert, it kinda weirded me out
