Hiya!
I'm trying to round up a pretty good team (of course)
So far I have decided on:

- Milotic

- Salamence

- Magnezone

- Gallade

- Leafeon

But I'm stuck on whether to get a Houndoom or a Magcargo...
Could you let me know what you think please?
Any ideas/criticisms about my team are welcome, I'm still a bit of a novice you see!
thanks guys!

adds the movesets, or note a little bit on your stratygy. Each guy should have a clear objective.

Houndoom is generally better than Magcargo - Magcargo is slow, and has 2 double weaknesses to common attack types (Ground, Water).

I agree that houndoom is better, but i would never put a fire type on my team. If u must though u could try:

houndoom with modest nature with Heat rock (or whatever the sunny day rock is called)

sunny day
solarbeam
Flamethrower
Dark Pulse

Evs spec. att@252 and Speed @252

Switch Houndoom in if you think the opponent will use a fire move so u can activate flash fire and hopefully they will switch or not have a super effective attack so u can use sunny day.

It's pretty obvious that Houndoom is the best choice here. But I'm not a fan of fire types. There's not much they can do.

Bellyzard WILL come for you, fire haters...

houndoom over magcargo, but unless the team is centered around sunny day houndooms to fragile to set up.

1st turn, houndoom sets up with sunny day, opponent kills

done deal. this set below is infinitely better.

Overheat
dark pulse
sludge bomb
pursuit
@ choice scarf

alternatively, you could go with the ever original nasty plot set

Nasty plot
dark pulse
flamethrower
substitute
@ salac

I think thats the new standard, cause sunnydoom sucks.

YUCK!! I can't believe anybody was even thinking of using a Magcargo in battle.

Houndoom is cool looking, but that's as far as it goes.

If you're looking for a fire type, I'd suggest forgetting that because Fire's strengths (Bug, Ice, Grass) could easily be covered by your team.

oh, lots of people have said not to have a fire type at all.
see this is where my problems are, i've always thought fire, water and grass were a must (probably because the starters are always those types).
so with a team of milotic, gallade, salamence, leafeon and magnezone what type(s) do you think I should have?
I quite like the idea of having a dark...
any ideas?
thanks guys! :D

Evs maxed in speed and attack

Ice punch
Night Slash
pursuit
Brick break

check the thread called all attack weavile moveset for some ideas on weavile

- Milotic - If you are going to have any pokemon with sunnyday remove it.
or have a half and half team.

- Salamence-Salaspecs-Flamethrower/Hydro pump or physical sweeper fire fang

- Magnezone-EVs in Hp and Special attack, Substitute and Thunder wave will take reduced damage from fire in rain.

- Gallade Hypnosis+Focus punch- No real weather effects

- Leafeon- Works with sunny day

-Houndoom- sunny day and solar beam

Do not use macargo, two 4x weaknesses to common types.

Houndoom is better because magcargo is slower and he has more special attack.

uhm well if i were you i would use houndoom becuase macgaro is really slow for one and houndoom is faster plus houndoom is part dark i think so he should also be able to take out psychic types and macgargo is effect 2x against water types so i would choose Houndoom so..HOUND DOOM FTW ! :D

Special sweeper Houndoom is good, and to Alkhazor : I was able to get one hundred wins in battle tower with this, so don't panic. Nobody is going to die.

{houndoom} @ Quick Claw
Modest | Flash Fire
EVs : 252 Sp Atk, 252 Spd,

Nasty Plot
Sunny Day
Fire Blast/OverHeat
Solar Beam

Nasty Plot, then sunny day, upping the power of fire and Solarbeam, and SolarBEam now dosen't have charge up turn, meaning Houndoom dosen't have to switch against water types anymore. Should be able to sweep atleast 2-3 pokes before it's KOd. Not so good for double battles, though.

I sincerely doubt this. 100 wins in the Battle Tower with a Houndoom on your team? Questionable.

That's not a bad moveset, actually. Focus Band, however, is questionable. I don't find it to be very reliable, so you're better off with Shell Bell or Leftovers.

Oh noez! The kittenz die because of fire blast and Ghett0's ignorance!

You expect the focus band to last for you to use nasty plot, sunny day AND a move?

NO

Oh, I thought it said Flamethrower. >_>

Also, a Dark Pulse is fine too.

Dark Pulse
Sunny Day
Flamethrower
Solarbeam

Hmm?

Actually, Fire Blast is better for the 3on3s in the battle tower.
