sturdy like focus sash?

me and my friend were discussing the ability sturdy, I said it blocks moves like sheer cold fissure etc. he thought it acts like a focus sash if they have full hp so they block a KO atk, the descreption: Negates one-hit KOs. so what exactly does that mean?

Thats really a block for the OHKO (One-hit-KO) moves. lt doesnt let you survive from a normal attack that kills you in one hit.
