Was thinking about making up a MU/BL team and putting Banette in it, any comments on this moveset?
Banette@Iron Ball
Brave, 252 atk , 126def, 126sp.def
Trick Room
Fling
Shadow Claw
Return/Destiny Bond/Snatch/Will-o-wisp/Knock-off
Basic idea: Use Trick room and reduce speed with Iron Ball. Use Banette's high-attack with shadow claw, and Banette is low on HP or about to be KOed, fling the Iron Ball for 130 atk with fling.
Return can be a alternative to attack, Destiny bond can be used to take down a second pokemon after Iron Ball is Flung. Snatch can be used to take swords dance or calm mind's etc etc. Will-o-wisp for burn status. Knock off to disable items.

I'm not fit to judge, but could be killed before it actually did it's job.

Banette might be able to pull it off, but it's defenses aren't the best. However, it might work if you BP Stockpiles or something.

In the Battle Tower Bannete's are quite annoying but in competitive battling
they might get murdered.
Not unless it was baton passed stockpile or has the focus sash for support.

Well, focus sash only works 1 turn; and even with stockpile they still get murdered by special moves.

That's why Bannete runs Destiny bond and its a suicidal pokemon and when its about to get KO'd, you take your opponent down with you.
See there are no happy endings...

No.. lol
Before that, set up thunder wave and use knock off to annoy the pokemon.
As soon as the pokemon is about to kill you, Destiny Bond and you get a
free switch.
Also always carry Shadow Claw on Bannete for a physical move.
Sometimes you can make something out of nothing.

Knock Off works just as well for tanks to remove their Lefties.
Infernape101's got the right idea here. Knock Off and Thunder Wave (Will-o-Wisp alternatively ;D ) to annoy, Shadow Claw for offense, and Destiny Bond for suicide bombing.

It must have been a misunderstanding.
While your moveset may be more useful for an annoyer, mine is an attempt at using Banette's attack to it's advantage.
My angle is coming from the fact that Banette has a movepool the size of a penny. I wanted to try and get something in there to use it's attack. Since it has next to no speed, it needs trick room. To use trick room it has to have as low speed as possible. Therefore, Brave Nature (Serebii's idea) Coupled with Iron Ball lowers the speed nicely. Then fling the Iron Ball and Destiny bond. Hopefully taking two pokes down with it.

It's not about beating Serebii's moveset. It's about creating a new idea to use Banette to the best of it's stats.
To be honest, there are way better annoyers out there than Banette. Ones that are way faster. That's not Banette's strength, Banette has it's strength in attack. So use Trick Room to turn it's weakness into a strength, avoid a OHKO with Focus Sash. Next turn, go faster, use Fling or Destiny Bond.

I'm in the process of finding that out myself. To be more direct, I posted this moveset to get people's input and find out what they thought and if it worked.

If its going on a trick room based team, then I would give it a shot. BTW, wht team is this going on? What are the other pokes? do they know trick room? If you had, say, a bronzong with trick room, you might be able to get away with a choice band banette.
