Has anyone thought about a Porygon-Z with a Tri-Attack, Choice Specs and a Modest Nature with Adapatability, and STAB now time for the Maths....

Tri Attack- base 90 * 3(Adapt+STAB)=270 base

270*2.6=702 base(Specs+Modest nature)

702 base+405(max sp atk at LV100)

That would make a high base power right, that almost nothing could survive. The stargey would be to BP and subsuite to Porgon-Z and then fire away.

adaptability takes in place of the STAB bonus (instead of x1.5 for the usual STAB, it's x2)

other than that, there's nothing new here. most would run tri attack with specs instead of hyper beam (i hope i just didn't start a war :P )

also, i think you would want BPed speed instead of substitute.

LACK OF MATHS.

75 x 2 = 150 (Adaptability raises the STAB to x2 you ilitterate)
150 x 1,5 = 225 (Specs)
405 Max SA with Modest (Nature effects the stat not the BP YOU TARD)

=225 Base Power + 405 SA

Did I say that the BP affects the stats, did I?

Oh yes, and thanks for that note of adapapbility, but lets say....if you BPed CM to Porygon with a subsuite the Porygon could Nasty Plot then sweep without Choice Specs, wouldn't that work?

remember that it is Porygon-Z's speed that is lacking, not it's special attack. BPing agility to a nasty plot Porygon-Z could work, or BPing calm mind/nasty plot to an Agiligon-Z would work in the later stages of the battle

your math basically stated that...

270*2.6=702 base(Specs+Modest nature)

Hehe, I guess that's how bad my Math is :P

Sorry about that, I didn't realise

EDIT:- the 2.6 came from the Specs (1.5) and the nature(1.1)

More people prefer to use the nasty plot one (and its obvius why). Batton passing some speed (It doesn't even needs to be an agility) is a great idea, since base 90 is not really low, you become faster than most things with speed passed.

Well, Specs affects the stat not the bp too. Though it matters little since they are multiplied by each other so early on in calculation.

And tri attack is base 80 isnt it?

Oh and you don't add base power to the attacking stat, you multiply it. This is later balanced out by some division.

When combining terms that are multiplied in a simple equation like that, you multiply them together. You added addition to a multiplication problem.

And therefore, the true math would be:

80 BP x2 = 160 (Adaptability converts STAB to x2)
160 x1.5 = 240 (Specs)
+405 Max SA with Modest nature

= hot death.
1.5 * 1.1 = 1.65.

How about a Hyper beam version, first you get another poke to use subby then BP the subsuite, then the Porygon could use Hyper Beam behind a subby and the subby with luck, it will hold until Porygon gets recharged.

That's old news. Ninjask/Pory-Z is a good combo.

Jask protects for the Speed Boosti then BPs a Sub to Pory-Z.

-Z Nasty Plots until the sub is broken. Nasty Plot Life Orb Hyper Beam OHKOS BLISSEY.

Would the strategy work better if you switched immediately?

Since people switch in their whirlwinder/roar and stop ninjask easy, unless you've switched to the high special attack bolt beamer with downloaded sp attack boost while they are switching in to counter you.

That's interesting, making them think twice about countering ninjask is something that might make him finally useful on a team.

Neither stab nor specs affects base power, though with specs this is kinda negligible since they get multiplied together, but stab Genuinely comes in much later in calculation which has a different result.
