I seem to be making alot of these discussion topics, sorry.

Another set I am unsure about:

{weavile}@Expert Belt/Choice Band
Adamant|252Atk 252Spd
-Night Slash

-Brick Break

What is standard? and what works well?

Don't worry about the whole 'too many discussion threads,' it's what I'm aiming for the Battle Tower to become - or rather, hoping, as I'm not a moderator and am not in a position to effect how this area of the forum turns out. I can hope though. ;)

Your set looks pretty fine to me, and for the last set, I have Aerial Ace. It takes out Heracross (when it's not Scarfed, which is rare) and really screws over Breloom.

There is also X Scissor, as it can do the damage to Exeggutor and Celebi with a 4x s/e bonus, while having little merit other than that.

Shadow Claw does nothing that none of the other attacks do; Ghost gets s/e on Ghost, Psychic and...that's it, I think, and Dark takes out those two, and more.

Ice Shard is useful for the priority, but really, you want Weavile to be hitting first anyway, as it won't be able to take a hit.

Regarding the item, I'd go for Expert Belt (because I love it, are you seeing a trend) while Choice Band is also a very popular alternative, as it manages to deal some major damage to the opponent.

Just watch out when bringing Choice Band Weavile in and out of play; SRock takes 25% off your health each time, not including the opponent's attack that you're bringing him into. That's why it makes such a good revenge Pokemon; the opponent kills your Poke, you bring Weavile in, and chop off the enemy Pokemon's head...er, health.

I dont understand the advantage of Expert belt. I understand that with such high type coverage, 10% can be useful, but why that over any other items? Leftovers incase of SR for example, or CB (which I like the sound of).

And could you explain exactly how revenge works, I dont quite understand it.

Well, Expert Belt is largely for the sake of having an item and not breaking Item Clause (which prevents you from having two of the same item) and not having a better one. Take the most used items in the game:

Choice Items: We've discussed this for Weavile and have decided that Choice Band is the best. However, another Pokemon (let's say Aerodactyl) might have one, and we can't have two due to Item Clause.

Lefties: The most used Item in the game, it's not all that use on Weavile. Imagine:

It gets hit by an attack. Because of its crap defences and HP, it goes below half way. Lefties restores a bit. The second attack kills it.

Even with SRock, it's not good enough to make it worthwhile, and it's better on another pokemon like Skarmory.

So, that leaves things like Life Orb (which, oddly enough, I didn't mention. That'd be pretty useful, but Srock and Life Orb damage will rack up...) and Expert Belt. The small margin could be enough to kill an enemy, whereas without it, it would be left with a small percent of HP and the ability to KO Weavile on its second turn.

So, what else is there? As always, there's the Lum Berry that Weavile could use and switch into its opponent's status inflicting attack, allowing you to get a free switch in to attack, but other than that, I can't think of anything, sorry.

Oh, and as for revenge; I'm talking about the strategy, as opposed to the attack. Watch:

Opponent has a Gengar out.
You have an Alakazam out.

Gengar uses Shadow Ball.
Alakazam faints.

You choose Weavile.
Weavile uses Night Slash / Pursuit.

Gengar faints!

This strategy is called a 'Revenge Kill,' because it allows you to take revenge on the opponent for killing your previous Pokemon. I think it came about as a result of Dugtrio's Arena Trap ability, but Weavile's great Speed and access to Pursuit managed to catch fleeing enemies and that dubbed it a Revenge Pokemon as well.

Well since the "Rev Kill" was put out I would like to put up the "Swords Dance" combo.

@ Expert Belt/Life Orb | Jolly
40 HP, 252 Atk ,216 Spe
Swords Dance
Night Slash
Ice Punch/Shard
Brick Break

All you have to do is set up with SD and with a plus-Speed nature you can go in and sweep.

I was going to put up the SD set, but since UT beat me to it I will just comment. I think it is much better to go shard>punch b/c of a little thing called...SCARFCHOMP!!! Ice shard lol's at scarfchomp, and very well could be your only hope of killing it.

I go for this build:

Nature: Jolly/Adamant
EVs: 252 in Attack & Speed
Item: Focus Sash
Moves:
~Ice Punch
~Night Slash
~Brick Break
~Swords Dance/ Aerial Ace

This is usually the opener so as to prevent Stealth Rocks or Spikes from making the Focus Sash useless.

Hail isn't going to hit Weavile. Non-sash Weavile will also die from a lot of priority moves, namely Bullet Punch, especially with the HP and Def/Sp.Def, so it doesn't really matter. And Brick Break will KO Tars, making hippo your only uncountered thing of those problems, and Shard/Punch still will deal a bit of damage (against a switched-in with max HP and Def Hippo)... and obviously you're not going to try and SD when Hippo or Tar are out already. Or just a sandstorm.

And if you're bored and/or want to surprise your opponent:

Modest/Timid

It's probably not going to be KOing much, but it'll catch the switch-in counters that are physical walls, at the least. Obviously, you can't have two Hidden Powers, and Nasty Plot shouldn't be used with Choice Specs. The Hidden Power is basically for what you want to counter (and I couldn't think of a decent type off the top of my head). HP Fighting in the first slot for Specs is a no.

Counter's also fun with a Sash, catching pokes off guard than hitting with Weavile's high Attack as usual.

This was the Weavile I used at one point:

Nature: Jolly
Item: Focus Sash
Moveset:

Ice Punch
Fake Out
Swords Dance
Night Slash

I usually would use Fake-Out(100% Flinch), then Swords Dance, take a hit, survive with at least 1 HP then choose an attack from there.

(Getting the Egg Moves was not hard, but quite confusing, involving Medicham and Buneary.)

That set still has problems with Proity Moves, and it can also get stopped by SandStorm, SR and Spikes. Fake Out is nice for stopping Sashers, also Ice Shard could be put instead of Ice Punch.

When combined with a night slash/ice punch/brick break (or shard for chomp), fake out can spell the end for anything with a focus sash, especially the 4x weakness dragons... Any other thoughts on this strategy?

Like any legit moveset, this one has its ups and downs, in my opinion i love this moveset, it has great coverage, i have taken out some good Sceptile, Garchomp, and Mismagius with it :)

too bad my niece thought it would be smart to restart my game :(

Great coverage? Good luck against the likes of Skarmory, Bronzong, and Forretress. The latter two care fire souped-up STAB Gyro Balls.

Focus Sash is really unreliable outside of Battle Tower, so you wouldn't see it much except on Ice types (in the case of a Hail team) or Ground/Steel/Rock types (in the case of Sandstorm). But Garchomp would been seen carrying Yache Berry over Focus Sash simply because it's naturally bulky but gets owned by Ice Beam, etc. In that case, Fake Out won't be that helpful.
