What's a good moveset for a specsmence?


This is my current one.

Salamence @ Choice specs

255 Sp.Atk and 255 Spd < Too lazy to just get 6 hp.

Draco Meteor
Flamethrower
Hydro Pump
~ [ Currently Crunch ]

So, what's a good fourth move? And if I'm going to use a support move, should I give it left overs?

Also, it currently only has HP Thunder, base damage is pretty low so that's a big no.

Dragonpulse or Hidden Power...
About the damage it can really be surprising...

Eh, I probally wouldn't consider dragon pulse. Since I already have draco meteor, and as for my HP thunder, it can't even knock out a wild noctowl @ lvl 25 when my Salamence was @ 52 and maxed sp atk evs. So I'm thinking that its HP's base damage is really low >__>

Actually in this case,It's not bad to have 2 dragon moves...
Since one Drains out your Sp.Att...
They have two different uses...

1)DM
Draco meteor is used when you need full power to take a big threat down...
then you retreat ASAP!!!
Or to End the game with a big blast...the second blast will be way weaker than the second if you keep using it...

2)DP
Dragon Pulse is for use for fight for long time,
when you don't want the drag of have to loss Power
after every attack...

And about the hidden power...Why don't you use hidden power/Ev/ID calculator
on the site so you can figure out???

Since salamence don't have any other good special move,
you have great chances of using those...

Why don't you try to make a Mixmence with Life Orb ???
It would work well too...

Dragon Pulse is another option to utilize STAB because you don't want to switch a lot early on in the game, potentially being a setup fodder for a 5-0 sweep only because you used Draco Meteor early on. There are also PP issues with Draco Meteor if you constantly use it throughout the game, especially from Pressure users (Two to Suicune and Two to Dusknoir and you're out of PP, for example), limiting Salamence to non-STAB options in Flamethrower/Fire Blast and Hydro Pump, which might not be the best choices to go to if you have Dragon Pulse (that has a nice 16PP).

Whoa very interesting. Because I always heard that draco meteor was for early and mid game and that after pokemon and steels have been worn down/taken care of, you switch to dragon pulse for sweeping because switching is much less viable in the late game and constant damage becomes more appealing.

But I don't have a specs mence, sooo I really have no opinion either way.
