Also high numbers mean diddly squat if they don't have the move pool to use that high number advantage. Just because they have the highest attack doesn't mean they have the move pool to make the best use out of it.

I know this may be a bit random because I didn't read the other majority of the posts, but I think every team should have at least one pyhsical and special sweeper. My favorite pokemon to use are bulk such as:
This set really finishes off physical sweepers.
Probopass@Lefties
careful, 252 hp and 252 def (I love maximizing 2 stats. I know you're suppose to spread. :p)
Magnet Pull
~~~
Toxic
Block
Iron Defense
Magnet Rise/Rick Polis/Rest (Depending on your battle style. (defWall//speedy//staller))
Yes, I know this is 2 def tanks in a row, but these are just my fav. : )
Steelix@Grip Claw
Impish, 252 def, 252 hp
Sturdy
~~~
Sand Tomb
Toxic
Rock Polish
Rest
I like tanks a LOT and stallnoyers. :k

Exactly, Take Flareon for instance, 130 base attack but the only options it really has are STAB Fire fang, Superpower, and Return. Whereas Swampert has a 110 base, But has STAB waterfall and EQ, Stone edge, Hammer arm, Avalanche, Outrage as well as many other strong options.

I agree with that but most pokemon have a decent type range as far as movesets go, Especially Hidden power users.
For example in the older games gyarados had great AT but could only use moves like earthquake and hyperbeam to capitalize on its stats.
Even flareon Has Bite/Dig, Fire fang , Super power, No pokemon has restience (I used the attack type calculator)
but still haveing a larger moveset is important
Still certian moves have their own draw-backs.

That smergle set could work.... if it had an actual attack stat to do damage. Also selfdestruct damage is always factored with -2 def in addition to it's 250 power, so it's actual power is 500.
Fury swipes could be interesting on ambipom to break subs, but it has better options for everything else.

Oops explosion is 250. Self destruct is 200 (300 though if you include STAB)
From the psydex for Self destruct
Quote: The Defense stat of other Pokemon is halved against this attack, essentially doubling the move's base power; causes the user to faint.
so on a smeargle it would have 600 base power total
You can get kinda close to that with spike cannon with all those boosts added to it, but even then you have a 1/8 chance of actually hitting 5 times, off a 35 base attack.. if you want a heavy hitting normal attack use fake out+Last resort.

Ancient power
Synthesis heals meganium by 2/3s and aromatherapy heals Every one of status condition
ancient power takes out all most all of meganiums many weaknesses

for an offensive set I'd go with
Bold/Modest @ leftovers
216HP 148DEF 144SATK
-Energy Ball (STAB)
-Nature Power (in wifi battles it becomes Tri-attack.)
-Mud slap (low power but hits steels and can help stall/switches)
-Light Screen/Synthesis (Either mixed walling or recovery)
Sunnybeam to way too easy to be messed up, esp. on a slower poke like Meganium.

Sheer cold > Fissure as it hits everything. OHKO moves are banned from most competitive venues and smeargle is to frail to make good use of it. Articuno is the best user of it with mind reader+sheer cold.

This topic is not for rating.
If You were to get your team rated
You'd need EVs, Items, Movesets, and Natures
If you don't know what EVs are look them up here http://www.psypokes.com/lab/evguide.php
From a first look
You have
3 Ubers which are not allowed in standard play
4 pokemon that are not fully trained
Salamence w/ Outrage, Brick break, fly
would Sweep all of your pokemon

Mind If I post my own tip?
Double battle stratagy #1:
Truant
You need a: Slaking + a Psychic pokemon
Ok this finaly brings out the full potential of the move truant.
The purpose of the move Truant is simple: Without it Slaking would be classified as an Uber and destroy nearly all teams with ease. But if used right, you can use truant as a weapon, and unleash a pokemon who's power is unheard of.
First Teach slaking some physical moves:
Giga Impact
Earthquake
Hammer Arm
Body Slam
Slash
Crush claw
They're all good, pick any of them.
Next get your psychic pokemon and teach it skill swap. Understand my point yet?
When you enter a double battle, First turn use skill swap on Slaking, and use something strong with Slaking (BTW slakings speed is actualy good, contrary to popular belief). With it's attacks power, it's gonna kill something, take my word for it. Then attack once more with Slaking next turn. Finaly time to use truant! Have your psychic pokemon use one last skill swap on your opponents best Pokemon; Now they're the handicapped ones!
With a whopping base attack of 160, base hp of 150, and defences at about 100 each, Slaking isn't just a tank, he's a war machine!

First off... Fly? As soon as you use it, you're giving your opponent a chance to switch to a counter, or just boost their stats and sweep.
I honestly don't see any point to this thread. You guys are just posting terrible movesets, or ideas, only to be corrected by MasterChef or Shinashu Taji.

Looks like someone discovered the secret of the thread.
In all honesty, I think Theolithical is right on the ball. That said...
