Post subject:  What other pokemon should I add to my team/ other advice

I will state now that I am a noob seeking advice so I can compete with my friends.

Charizard Lv100 brave nature. EVs 252 Attack 252 HP (IDeas for item)
ThunderPunch, Flare Blitz, Dig, Fly

Blissey LV 100. Impish nature. Evs 252 hp 252 def. (Ideas for item)
Thunderpunch takes care of the water types cha rizard fears, Flare Blitz and Fly are its stab, ane
Flamethower is to try and deal with the steel types that can't be toxiced. I know double team would be better but I doubt I will bump into any of my friends using stomp.

Arceus LV 100 (On/Off team depending on rules by friends) Sassy nature. Can't remember evs.
Ice Judgement, Roar of Time, Spacial Rend, Shadow Force.

Shuckle Lv 66 Hardy nature. EVs 252 def 252 hp. item leftovers (My only one)
toxic, double team, rest, bugbite/most likely will replace with willowisp.

Smeargle lv 82 naughty nature. Evs had since start of game so can't remember. (Ideas for item)
Seismic toss, super fang, soon to have spore, aqua jet.
I was thinking about turning it into an Endevor/ Aquajet but it seems the focus sash I got it has vanished from my game somehow.

I was thinking about adding a fast pokemon with explosion to my team to damage sweepers but I don't know if that is wise.

{electrode} is the only pokemon I know that has the speed you seek & know the learns the move Explosion. Though I don't advise using Explosion unless you already know what you are doing & I don't advise you use explosion as a method to deal with sweepers when you have pokemon like {arceus} & {charizard} in your party, just isn't worth it really since sweepers aren't all that hard to deal with as you probably think they are. Probably didn't help you out but I tried, enough said.

I have decided not to use my Arceus. I don't really seem to enjoy playing it (Perhaps because I never got to train it from a lower level and don't feel comfy using legendarys) Plus I don't like the move set it has but don't want to get rid of it because its unique to the Toy R Us Event. I was starting to think about a Gengar for explosion but if you don't think using explosion is needed then any other advice would be fine. I now know that Focus Sash is a one time use item and I can't stock up on them so any other smeargle strategies that would work well with My Blissey, Charizard, or Shuckle would also be appreciated.

I don't mind training new things for my team but hear are some of my other pokemon I have if you think they will be valuable to the teaadm.

Feraligator Sassy Nature 252 HP 252 Sp Def
Ice Fang, Waterfall, Superpower

Empoleon Modest Nature (Don't know evs)
Signal Beam, Blizzard, Surf, Hidden power fighting

Gyrados (Caught it as a shiny Magicarp) Mild nature takes away from attack=-( 252 Atk 252 Spe
Iron Head, Aqua Tail, Dragon Dance, Bounce

Aerodactyl Modest nature 252 atk 252 speed
Thunder, Ice, and fire fang along with Rock slide

Jolteon Jolly Nature (Cant remember evs)
Double Kick, Thunder Bolt, Thunder Wave, Shadow Ball

Any advice would be nice. My friend has a large veritey of level 100s and advice on how to beat them without using cheats would be nice.

It will mean some work, but i would advise breeding pokemon to get the exact nature's you want.

also, you can more creative with the moveset- Alot of your moves seem like an anti elite 4 team.

Watch some youtube battles and see the shenanigans they set up with their pokemon

Also, this is the platinum team i'm working on.

{togekiss} {garchomp} {lucario} {registeel} {entei} {aggron}

it is of course subject to change as i change my mind :frustrated:

If you plan to use this in OU you must drop Garchomp. And Entei just isn't very good in competitive play.

Not to go off-topic, but Cactuar, just because Smogon banned it doesn't mean it's automatically banned for everyone. Smogon is just the most popular tier list, I could name off multiple others, and I also don't consider Garchomp uber, but that may be because I never had a problem with it/never let it set up.

And Bud, this does seem like an anti-elite four team. I think you should try breeding for good IV's and a good nature and getting some more diverse movesets. Charizard will get raped by stealth rocks, so you could use a choice scarf/specs Starmie with rapid spin, it could get rid of fast sweepers and rid the field of rocks.

I guess I have a lot of work to do then=-p I have a decent Cubone with a nature I want so I will raise it. I loves my Charizard to much to get rid of it so a rapid spinner sounds good and a Starmie sounds fun.

After watchin a couple videos on youtube I notice there is a significant amount of switching. Is it wise for my Charizard to have fly and dig. If not what moves would be good replacements. I was thinking about maybe roost for one of them.

It is very well known that Fly and Dig aren't very good moves to use in competitive battling, as they take two turns to pull off they are very easily countered. Charizard isn't a Pokemon that you should be using as a wall, and isn't all too sturdy so it can't make good use of Roost. My SpecsZard moves are Flamethrower, Ancient Power, Dragon Pulse, and Air Slash.

Post subject:  Re: What other pokemon should I add to my team/ other advice

I figured dig and fly wouldn't be helpful. It kinda stinks that roost wouldn't be helpful though. I figure I can give my Charizard steel wing, earthquake to give it something supper effective against rock types and then give it areal ace for flying stab.

So my team is looking like this right now.

Charizard
Blissey
Shuckle
Smeargle (Thinking about making it an ingrain/aqua ring patton passer for Blissey or Shuckle..It sounds fun but I want to observe others use Smeargle for patton pass so I can get a clue of how to do it effectivly.
A Starmie or another pokemon that can learn rapid spin if it can also learn taunt.
Cubone

The only reason I would change starmie is because though its cool it feels weird not to have and 3rd or 4th gen pokemon on the team.

Well, yes, but Garchomp is Uber on this forum's tier list as well, not just Smogon. I agree with you, it's not been a problem for me either, but a lot of people don't allow it.

BudLink, you might drop Charizard for something else. If you want a Pokemon with the same typing, Moltres is a good choice. Along with good stats it can make a pretty good anti-lead. (Although stealth rock still devastates it.)

Cry but I love my Charizard. I saw a Moltress today but it fled=-(

If I do have to get rid of Charizard (Unfourtnetly it looks like I might have to from this thread) then the type of pokemon that replaces it dosn't matter so suggestions for a replacement would be appreciated. (I don't feel commfy using a Moltress because its a legendary.)

Also it means that the Starmie isn't necisarely needed and a recomindation for a possible replacement would be nice to.

Post subject:  Re: What other pokemon should I add to my team/ other advice

I suggest you still use Starmie or another rapid spinner, simply for the fact that Starmie's extremely vertatile and can play the role of a special sweeper, with Rapid Spin thrown into the moveset for when you need it. If you're intent on keeping Charizard, then you have to either use it as a lead or with a rapid spinner. Donphan pairs well, being immune to Electric, but shares the Water weakness. Starmie shares the Electric weakness, but resist water. Hitmontop takes neutral from everything normally aimed at Charizard and resists Rock moves. The choice is up to you, but it looks to me like you need a special sweeper, and Starmie fills this role well.

Blissey is way overused and there are cooler options IMO (Such as Clefable), but she's still the best special wall in the game.
Shuckle seems redundant after Blissey, get something that can actually do some damage while walling, like Steelix or Metagross, who can both set up stealth rock (Which you're lacking).
Smeargle: Spore is necessary on any Smeargle set, make sure you use that.
Marowak: An agility subpetaya will sweep your entire team barring Blissey if it gets to set up, I suggest a faster physical sweeper, Choice Scarf Flygon, Dragon Dance Gyarados, and Choice Band Weavile are all powerful and fast options.

Keep in mind these are all suggestions for competitive play, if this is just for playing against friends then you're fine. If, however, you plan on using this in the battle tower, Shoddy battle, or tournaments, I suggest you go with any of the options mentioned in this topic. www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon is also a great place to get started if you're looking for movesets, natures, and EV's for your Pokemon.
