Through the Wi-Fi connection, are players able to battle each other if they're on seperate generations? I.E. If I had HeartGold, and my friend has Diamond; can we battle each other without having to have beaten the elite four already? I'm trying to organize a tournament in RL, and this is a deciding factor; if it's limited to one generation, we might not be able to have it. Thanks in advance for any help. ~Casdeth |

They should be. I can trade from my Diamond to my Soul Silver without problems. |

I tried to battle Ryder the other day over Wi-Fi, he was using HeartGold and I was using Diamond, and it didn't seem to work, but I've traded over the two before. |

Yes you are very much capable of battling someone using Diamond if you have Heart Gold. |
