Gengar@Leftovers
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Thunderbolt

For this gengar (I think it is called "McGar") what is the best nature for it?

I really need to know, anyone that can help pelase tell me I would greatly appreciate.

A mixed sweeper?

That gengar is more used in the metagame if I'm not mistaken.

At any rate, I'd say Lonely, Naughty or Brave. Naughty if you want to sweep insanely w/o worrying too much about sp. def (which you should, because of things like psychic) or Brave if you don't mind cutting the speed.
I wouldn't suggest adamant if you want T-Bolt, but then again, I wouldn't suggest this moveset because of gengar's low Atk anyway..... Anyway, naughty or brave can both hurt gengar, so I'd go for lonely. Gengar's weaknesses are Psychic, Dark and Ghost; the former two are sp moves and the latter is a physical move. You can't be good at everything, so I say you cut an already not-so-good defense but keep a great speed (brave would cut it), an awesome sp atk (adamant would cut it) and a needed sp def (naughty would cut it). This leaves us with Lonely, which is the one I recommend. But this is my opinion alone.

But you know, you were better off with the special sweeping set, gengar's sp atk is its strongest point. Unless you want to use it in netbattle, and in that case I suggest you post this in the Netbattle zone.

Gee, why did you start two topics, both of which concerns your Gengar(s)? :?

I've already spoke a little about Gengar in the other thread. Here's the link: http://psypokes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6150

I suggest Lonely (+Atk, -Def), Hasty (+Spd, -Def), Docile (all stats = ) or Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) for the Gengar moveset in this thread.

Man, we didnt use to have to worry about this back in RBY. But yes, Lonely and Hasty are prolly best. All pokemon should really have a nature though, so the Neutral ones should be left in the cold.

Hasty please. With around 60 in HP, Def, and Sp.Def Gengar can't really survive much hits(but I love him for his three immunities). A SkarmBliss counter I guess.

Don't forget Lax.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go +Spd on Gengar unless you are using the Raw Sp.Sweeper set of Giga Drain/Thunderbolt/Ice Punch/Hypnosis.

McGar is no longer a counter to Snorlax if Snorlax packs Shadow Ball.

There are exceptions to everything, Gengar does not always have to use +Speed.

I always give Gengar Destiny bond incase of a Shadow Balling snorlax.

Is Naive what you meant?

That isnt McGar, but ok.

I'd go with adamant because of Gar's low atk and the fact that your only special is T-bolt.
