so i restarted my pkmn crystal and this is my actual party. lv51 @leftovers -Agility -Metal Claw (don't remember how long it takes to get steel wing) -Swords Dance -? (current is false swipe to complete the pokedex) i dunno how to complete the set HP is flying; so much for the HP Bug... maybe return?? lv 46 @leftovers -Flame wheel (soon to be flamethrower, just beat the elite 4, looking for the tutor) -Thunderpunch -Earthquake -Dynamicpunch (i PP up maxed it, still not really reliable... should i put a magmar in here?) don't know what the HP is, i think its rock. lv 52 mine is shiny @leftovers -Waterfall (didn't get the hydro pump only 5 pp...) -Agility -Dragonbreath -Icy wind (looking for ice beam...where is the tutor again?!) lv 55 @leftovers -Fly -Iron Tail -Dragonbreath -Extremespeed hmm... well this dragonite is my flier... don't really like fly but someone has to do that. Extremespeed is pretty cool, Dragonbreath is the STAB. iron tail 75% acc... should it be steel wing? lv 56 @leftovers -Surf -Wing Attack (would like it to be thunder or t-bolt) -Ice Punch (should be ice beam soon) -Dragonbreath (want it to be flamethrower) so yeah i know 2 dragonites, what am i, lance or smth.? i just love it because the second dragonite is a shiny one Thats it, and i got a free slot, was thinking about tyranitar maybe. any suggestions? |

Sorry for not responding - I've been rather busy. Zcythe wrote: so i restarted my pkmn crystal and this is my actual party.
lv51 @leftovers -Agility -Metal Claw (don't remember how long it takes to get steel wing) -Swords Dance -? (current is false swipe to complete the pokedex) i dunno how to complete the set HP is flying; so much for the HP Bug... maybe return?? Doesn't get steel wing though level up. TM only. You could go with return in the last spot, as it is too slow for reversal. Consider not keeping this. lv 46 @leftovers -Flame wheel (soon to be flamethrower, just beat the elite 4, looking for the tutor) -Thunderpunch -Earthquake -Dynamicpunch (i PP up maxed it, still not really reliable... should i put a magmar in here?) don't know what the HP is, i think its rock. He's in Goldenrod outside the game corner, on sundays and wednesdays. mornings I think. Anyway, sunny day > dynamic punch - you hit rocks hard enough with Earthquake. lv 52 mine is shiny @leftovers -Waterfall (didn't get the hydro pump only 5 pp...) -Agility -Dragonbreath -Icy wind (looking for ice beam...where is the tutor again?!) What about surf > waterfall? Thats simple lv 55 @leftovers -Fly -Iron Tail -Dragonbreath -Extremespeed hmm... well this dragonite is my flier... don't really like fly but someone has to do that. Extremespeed is pretty cool, Dragonbreath is the STAB. iron tail 75% acc... should it be steel wing? lv 56 @leftovers -Surf -Wing Attack (would like it to be thunder or t-bolt) -Ice Punch (should be ice beam soon) -Dragonbreath (want it to be flamethrower) so yeah i know 2 dragonites, what am i, lance or smth.? i just love it because the second dragonite is a shiny one Great, so you couldn't get the extremespeed one to be shiny? lol, anyway...even though extremespeed is cool, physical dragonite is not good. So, he's mixed... Dragonite @Leftovers ~Extremespeed ~Wing attack/Fly ~Fire Blast ~Dragon Breath/outrage Dragonite @Leftovers *shiny* ~Thunderbolt/thunder ~ice beam ~surf ~rain dance/safeguard/dragonbreath/outrage Dragon + fire and ice + electric - not many resist the combos (actually, only magneton and lanturn resist ice and electric). Thats it, and i got a free slot, was thinking about tyranitar maybe. any suggestions? Machamp, golem, rhydon, exeggcutor, good pokemon witha fast sleep move. |

I will be perfectly clear - I do not rate unfinished pokemon. Even putting out a prospective team would be great. |

Well, I'll add a team of mine to be rated, if this post isn't dead already. A few moves I'm undecided. All holding leftovers unless another item is better. ~Rock Slide ~Earthquake ~Crunch ~HP Flying/Return ~Mean Look ~Toxic ~Double Team ~Rest ~Body Slam ~Earthquake ~Curse ~Rest ~Psychic ~Giga Drain ~Leech Seed ~Sleep Powder ~Flamethrower ~Extremespeed/Return ~Crunch ~HP Grass ~Surf ~Ice Beam ~Psychic ~Recover/Thunderbolt Also, I could use an annoyer in place of either Starmie or Arcanine, but I do not know who would be good. kthxbi |

Post subject: | Re: ~Official GSC Rating Center~ |
T-tar looks decent - some like Curse > Crunch, but I find that the speed actually gives him a slight edge. Its also nice to have a reliable anti-ground move against Donphan. Umbreon - Curse / Charm, Mean Look, B-pass, Rest. Notice that charming really helps make the passing a bit easier. Note that If you pass curse to ES Arcanine, that would be great as Extremespeed nullifies the speed drop. Snorlax - Good old curselax. You're good until Skarms/Forry screws you over. Exeggutor - See, this is sort of why I prefer Jynx - the more accurate sleep move, and better STAB in terms of power, pp, and type coverage... Anyway - Eggy is a Psychic with Attack power, and explosion is base 250, with a halving of Def leading to 500 base. I'd love to say replace Leech seed, but that in and of itself is good. A miracle berry could prove useful with Giga Drain. I personally use Eggy for stalling - Leech Seed, substitute, protect, and Psychic/Mega Drain (PP). Arcanine - Go with extremespeed and you'll be fine. You could replace this with Charizard, who at least gets EQ and Rock Slide. Starmie: Recover is your best bet. You have a real problem - I'd actually replace Umbreon or Eggy with something that can really pack in damage. Gengar is really good - T-bolt, Psychic, Ice Punch, and either Hypnosis or something. I actually have not played GSC for a while, so I'm a little unsure. |

I'll play! Here's an old team of mine, but certainly my favorite silver team. lvl 62 @ Soft Sand - Razor Leaf - Earthquake - Body Slam - Solarbeam (should probably replace w/ toxic or rest maybe) This was the first time I chose Chikorita as my starter, and it seemed like if I didn't give it Earthquake, there wasn't much of a reason to keep it on my team. lvl 62 @ sharp beak/ pink bow - Wing Attack - Slash - Sword Dance - False Swipe (for Pokedex completion; replacing with Steel Wing or Hyper Beam) lvl 62 @ leftovers - Faint Attack - Zap Cannon - Return - Moonlight (Is Rest better?) I know I should probably have something other than Zap Cannon, like Psychic. lvl 62 @ leftovers/ magnet - Thunder - Fire Punch - Flash (needed it for Mt. Silver) - Thunderpunch (should probably get Rain Dance instead) lvl 62 @ mystic water - Surf - Ice Beam - Body Slam - Hydro Pump (call it an open slot) lvl 62 @ amulet coin (money!) - Fly (convenience) - Aeroblast - Hydro Pump - Recover To be honest, I just love Aeroblast! |

Feraligatr - Nevermeltice/Hard Rock - Surf - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Rock Slide Golem - Soft Sand/Hard Rock - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Submission - Explosion Houndoom - Blackglasses - Flamethrower - Crunch - Solarbeam - Sunny Day Scizor - Quick Claw - Slash - Steel Wing - Wing Attack - Swords Dance Snorlax - Leftovers - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Shadow Ball - Rest I want to replace the Golem with the following Tyranitar and the Scizor with the following Heracross. Turaga: Everything is standard here. Do not use the blackbelt/nevermeltice/that kind of item. Go leftovers on everything. Do the cloning trick. And keep recover on Alakazam. |

They get the job done well though. Any reccomendations are much appreciated. The moves I have bolded are the ones that may need changing if you can think of a more appropriate alternative TM that I can get. Currently I'm looking for opinions as to whether "Sleep Talk" would be better than "Snore" for Snorlax. Also wondering about whether Dragonite should have "Thunderpunch" or "Ice punch", and some alternatives for Wing Attack/Twister. Jolteon really has a couple of weak moves in there also. EDIT: Perhaps Flash, Rain Dance or Shadow Ball for Jolteon. |

I made a few changes to my team. All pokemon with leftovers unless there is a better option. Lovely Kiss Reflect Ice Beam Psychic Megahorn Rest Sleep Talk Hidden Power Fighting / Earthquake (Really like HP, but have had little patience to mess with DVs) Curse Rest Double-Edge Earthquake Thunder Wave Thunderbolt Surf Recover Rock Slide Earthquake Crunch Fire Blast Mean Look Toxic Charm Rest My only fear is any weakness my team has, one pokemon that could rip through the entire team. I was also hoping to counter most of the OU. I also have questions on vitamins. Does it matter when you give them, as in lower and higher levels? Also, is there a limit? Thanks in advance for any help. |

EDIT: Perhaps Flash, Rain Dance or Shadow Ball for Jolteon. typhlosion doesn't need two fire moves, so I would switch flame wheel for thunder punch, and cut is very weak, but I doubt you can undo that, so I'll move on Lugia: zap cannon is horribly inaccurate, so I would switch it with aeroblast for a stab Aerodactyl: fly is a bad move, and you only need one flying move, but I don't think you can undo that, so I would lose the wing attack, and add earthquake Snorlax: lose snore, and add earthquake, and then you might even want to switch hyper beam for shadow ball, but it's up to you Jolteon: keep double kick, but lose iron tail to add shadow ball Dragonite: outrage/dragon breath, wing attack, blizzard, surf/fire or thunder punch (what ever you feel your team needs) hope that helps, and I apologize on behalf of the raters for the long wait |

Lovely Kiss Reflect nightmare would be fun Ice Beam Psychic Megahorn Rest Sleep Talk counter or reversal Hidden Power Fighting / Earthquake earthquake (Really like HP, but have had little patience to mess with DVs) Curse Rest Double-Edgebody slam! it is slightly weaker, but it can paralyze, and doesn't recoil Earthquake Thunder Wave Thunderbolt Surf Recover starmie doesn't have to defense/hp/ sp.Defense for recover, so use psychic Rock Slide Earthquake Crunch Fire Blast looks good, but maybe you want curse Mean Look Toxic Charm Rest looks like a good toxic holder, but you might want to switch charm and rest for curse and faint attack, so you can curse to max attack, then sweep, but make sure it holds left overs to heal My only fear is any weakness my team has, one pokemon that could rip through the entire team.
