Most of my cards consist of the original 151 pokemon sets like base set, fossil, and team rocket. I refuse to buy the new cards.... they just aren't the same as the cool originals! Anyone agree/disagree with me?

Since I started with the newer cards, I dislike the early cards' design. I prefer newer cards. But that's just me, I suppose.

Disagree, and I'm an older, and probably more loyal fan of the 1st generation. The older cards were fun and cool, but there's nothing wrong with the new cards (besides the TCG actually sucking now.)

What exactly is wrong with the new cards...? Because they have new Pokemon printed on them? Because the design is a LITTLE different? I really don't understand why you would stop collecting cards because of that.

I started back in 1999 when the TCG first came out, and I think that there are charms both to the old and new cards. The Diamond/Pearl ones are actually my personal favorites as not only are they colorful and sleek, but they brought back the flavor text (height/weight/dex entry) that had been absent for all of Hoenn.

I know I try to follow the tournament scene and thus it necessitates getting newer cards, but I still keep most of my older ones. They have a beauty to them, yes. But that doesn't mean the newer ones do not.
