Post subject:  Is Kadabra worth using without being able to evolve?
Topic says it all. I play FireRed on my phone via emulator, and I can't trade. I trained my abra up (255 sp. atk 255 speed) but I can only use a Kadabra. Should I try getting another psychic like Hypno or even another pokemon who can learn Psychic?

P.S. I don't use legendaries, they're cheating in my book :P

Each of Alakazam's base stats are higher than Kadabra's respective ones by exactly 15, which would translate to about a 30-point difference in each stat. That's kind of a lot, but if you're just playing the game for the heck of it, keeping an unevolved Kadabra shouldn't be so hard.

Thanks, I think I'm going to compare it to some other pokemon. It's just hard finding pokemon with such high Sp. Atk. Perhaps I'll try Jynx though.

Kadabra is so much stronger than pretty much any other Psychic-type you can acquire in-game in FireRed that, even if you can't get yourself an Alakazam, a Kadabra will be more than capable of holding its own against the hordes that come its way.

Kadabra is pretty strong in and of itself, don't bother getting a different psychic. Unless you can get Mew or Mewtwo.
