is there anybody who stored their starting pokemon in the pc and never used it? i dont know about u but i feel attached to it in a way and always have it on my team. this goes for any version of the game. i can understand if u have a team full of legendaries or played the game multiple times over, but i just wouldnt be able to do that myself. how about u?

I usually raise it above the rest quickly so it can power over all opponents. Although once on Crystal, I just used a Gastly and it still went perfectly.

I get so sick and tired of looking at the sprite I just end up storing it. Besides, starters seldom satisfy my battle style, although they're undeniably more powerful than the majority of wild pokes.

An exception to this, may I just point out, would be Bulbasaur. I beat FR and LG both without ever evolving it.... yeah, I know, weird. But I like it... the first pokemon I saw in my life... oh the nostalgy

I have a favorite starter in every region and have a strong bond with each of them.I would do no such thing as deposit my starter to the horror of "The Box"...unless of course I was playing Yellow...The moment I would catch another pokemon I would banish the dreaded Pika to the little box of horrors  and maybe even release it (I`ve never played so I don`t know if it`s possible).

I did that once. That evil lvl. 6 pika is lying at the bottom of box 12 crying out in fear... You can't release it, unfortunately, even with this knowledge I've attempted to countless times just so I could laugh evilly as it cried out in that stupid voice... Die Pikachu, DIE!

I do like {raichu} though. A lot. Sucks that you can't evolve the yellow pika...

Try evolving it when you trade it to G/S/C
But I would never lock up my little Pert in the box of horrors! Just look at him! He's helpless! The only one I do keep in there are his and his mate's babys, they've seen the light of day once, and the aren't gonna see it again!
So...

Nope. I'm always loyal to my starters. I always raise them three levels above the rest of my team as well, so "distinguish" them from the rest. Anyway, the starters aren't too bad to begin with, so there's no reason not to use them, right?

I used to always have my starter, it was the Legendary of my team, it was the elite Pokemon. But lately, I've been constructing teams with my favorites, and sadly, I don't love the starters enough to consdier them a favorite. But sN0wBaLL's right, they are there, use'em. :P

(Yes, I know I contradicted myself)

Well, I recently restarted my account, and, for a change, I decided I was going to change my team every time I reach a new area (e.g. I get to the desert, I fill my team with Steel, Rock, and Ground pokes). Also, at the start of the game, I got my friend to trade me all three beginers. So if I need'em I use them. They are all good Pokemon, and are defienatly not weak.

I have only done so in Yellow.

Of course, I was cursed with laziness and only trained my started and the legendary/ies of the game, so I sort of had to. Only in the R/S/E threesome have I raised a complete team.

I always keep my starters, and I would never dream of putting them in the box, unless it was that yellow pikachu, but I pretty much just kepp my starters.

these days i usually just wait till i catch my first poke, trade it for an egg, hatch the egg and make that my starter... in that way ive had starters like sneasel, scyther, horsea, and my next one will be a skarm...

One time I decided what my entire team was going to be when I restarted so I just hatched six eggs and traded them to colosseum, restarted ruby, caught five zigzagoons/poochyenas, and traded them to colosseum (along with torchic). So yeah, I had six starters really, which were {corphish} {seviper} {vulpix} {pikachu} (for Raichu, dangit, for Raichu...) {shroomish} {sandshrew}

The only time I put my starters in the PC is when I go to the Battle Tower/Frontier.
Of course I have an army of lvl 50's.....

I only have done this when I'm taking mono-type challenges but I don't last long before starting over when I do do them.

I only used my starter up until the pokemon league. After I beat that I pal parked better pokemon in and my starter has never come out of the box since.

Okay that's only partly true, I bred it once to get my friend a piplup. But after that, never again. I think it's only like lv 54 or something. (Same as at pokemon league victory.)

I have to admit I am partially attached to the Starters but solely for in-game purposes. In competitive game I can only see a choice few making my roster but have yet yo use one. I have always been partial to the fire types, the fact that in the first few Gens fighting the opponents starter at a disadvantage and winning always seem to spark a certain feeling of accomplishment and power. Nowadays the starters can all cover their own weaknesses thus killing the spark and making me chase a new trail of defeating Legendary teams with common pokes such as Gyarados.
